we provide an array of recovery oriented services to individuals who experience mental health challenges or co-occurring disorders. Our services are based on each individual’s strengths and their desire to achieve personal goals. We accomplish our mission by inspiring hope, encouraging self-advocacy & assisting in the development of natural supports within each person’s community.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation

Serves individuals ages 16 and older - Services provided are provided both site-based and mobile (in the community or a person’s home) and can be individual or group sessions. Psych Rehab interventions are from approved, evidence-based models and are designed to assist individuals to develop the skills and supports in areas such as symptom management and coping skills, developing and maintaining social and community supports, getting and keeping housing or meaningful employment, and support for educational goals. In addition, AMI offers services specifically geared towards serving Youth and Young Adults.

Supported Employment

AMI utilizes the evidence based practice of the SAMHSA Supported Employment Model to support individuals to obtain gainful and meaningful employment.

We believe that every person with mental health challenges is capable of working competitively in the community. Individual and group sessions will be focused on helping participants with mental health challenges to build the skills and supports to obtain meaningful employment. Employment can increase a person’s self-esteem, helping them become independent and self-reliant.

Supportive Housing

Supportive housing is a one-on-one service that is designed to assist individuals to choose, obtain, and maintain safe and affordable housing in the environment of their choosing. This service includes supporting the individual in preparing to live independently, or in their community, as well as maintaining their home once they move. This may include both financial assistance and/or individual support designed to meet the individual’s needs.

Peer Support Services

We offer two levels of Peer Support Services with both levels of service provided by trained individuals who are in mental health recovery. These services are for individuals with mental health challenges, ages 16 and up. These programs differ from traditional services in some basic ways, including reduced reliance on professionals, voluntary participation, and a non-judgmental atmosphere. The informality of peer support services avoids artificial barriers since peer supports are also persons in recovery.

Certified Peer Specialist

A Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) is an individual who is in recovery form personal mental health challenges & is specifically trained to assist the people they serve to improve their own lives, develop coping skills & build supports.
The CPS must successfully complete an OMHSAS approved 2 week intensive training prior to providing service & must also demonstrate positive recovery in their own life.

Peer Mentor

Peer mentoring is support service for individuals with mental health challenges that may include a social or recreational component.

Drop In Center

Serves individuals ages 18 and older-Drop-In Centers offer a safe, supportive environment within the community for individuals who have experienced mental health challenges. It is a place to go, a place to be, a place to make friends and be accepted. Individuals do not need to be currently receiving mental health services in order to attend a Drop-In Center, however, the support staff at the center will assist individuals to obtain a referral if the person wishes to continue to attend regularly.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Groups focus on increasing self-esteem, building community supports, identifying community resources, learning about symptoms and coping skills for mental health challenges
